At St. Anne’s-Belfield School, we believe that investing in a child’s education is one of the most important decisions a family can make.
We are committed to nurturing a socio-economically diverse and inclusive student body by making education opportunities available to qualified students, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. For the 2025-26 school year, we committed over $5.8 million to our need-based financial aid program. Students in Pre-School 3’s and 4’s through Grade 12 are eligible to apply for these funds; students in the Two-Year-Olds (Twos) program are not eligible.
About 30% of students receive partial financial aid, with the average award varying by division. Divisional financial aid allocations are typically the greatest in the Upper School, with diminishing amounts available in Middle and Lower School grades, and the smallest amount available to qualifying families in the Early Childhood Program (ECP).

Deadlines
We partner with Clarity Financial Aid for financial aid applications.
- Nov. 14, 2025: Application deadline for returning families
- Jan. 16, 2026: Priority application deadline for prospective families
- March 2, 2026: Financial aid applications will be considered on a rolling basis after this date, based on available space and funding.
How to Apply
The financial aid process begins with these steps:
Step 1 (for prospective applicants): Indicate on your child’s admission application that you will be seeking consideration for financial assistance. See our Apply Now page to begin your admission application.
Step 2: Create an account with the IRS to aid in the Clarity Enhanced Tax Verification process.
Step 3: Complete the Clarity application. The application takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and is mobile-friendly.
Step 4: Submit and pay the $60 application fee. Clarity will automatically waive the application fee for eligible families.

Partnership with Mission Enrollment
We are excited to continue working with Mission Enrollment (ME), our outside partner who reviews financial aid applications for our School and for many independent schools nationwide.
In addition to reviewing applications, ME will manage communications throughout the process with financial aid deadline reminders, as well as specific requests for additional documentation, if needed.

Will applying for financial aid affect my child’s chances for admission?
No. Admission decisions and financial aid assessments are made independently.
Who may apply for financial aid?
The financial aid consideration begins in our 3’s & 4’s classes and continues through Grade 12.
How are awards determined?
Financial aid eligibility is determined annually based on a detailed assessment of the information families provide through Clarity Financial Aid. The award amount is then determined by the St. Anne’s-Belfield School Financial Aid Committee.
Financial aid is awarded based on a family’s demonstrated financial need, and families should expect to contribute to their child’s educational costs at the highest level possible, given their financial situation.
Does St. Anne’s-Belfield School offer merit scholarships?
No. Financial awards are based on a family’s demonstrated need only.
Will my child’s financial aid award change from year to year?
Financial need and awards are recalculated every year, using current information. If there is little change in a family’s circumstances, one can expect that the grant that was first offered will be renewed at a similar dollar level. Bear in mind that annual tuition increases will usually be shared between the family and St. Anne’s-Belfield School.
Is my financial information confidential?
All applications for financial aid are confidential. Only the Financial Aid Committee and the Head of School have access to the records.
What happens in the case of divorce, separation and single parents?
In cases of divorce or separation, St. Anne’s-Belfield School requires both biological parents to apply for financial aid.
How do families living outside of the United States (international families) apply for financial aid?
Families who live outside of the US and do not file a US federal tax return are asked to provide equivalent documentation for their country of residence during the Clarity application process.
