Have Fun with Reading this Summer!
There are many ways you can have fun with reading this summer! Below you’ll find resources for families, book recommendations, and a variety of summer reading challenge information!

Grade 1
Activities
- Cooking Together: measuring, working with a timer
- Building Activities: Legos, K’nex, puzzles, magnatiles
- Help with Grocery Shopping: Identifying, grouping, and counting money, counting and organizing items in the basket
- Count and skip count by 2’s, 3’s, 5’s and 10’s using the hundreds chart
- Use a tens frame to count objects (snacks, stones, pieces of candy all work great!)
- Build and read numbers using this place value chart (use a 6 or 10-sided die to build your numbers!)

- Use these multiplication and place value charts to practice number writing and reading.
