Middle School Welcome Letter
Greetings from the Middle School!
I hope your summer is off to a joyful start. I’m writing with important information to help you prepare for the upcoming school year. Please take a moment to review the resources on the Back to School Hub and bookmark the page for easy reference.
What You’ll Find on the Back to School Hub:
- Required medical forms and submission deadlines
- Daily start and end times
- Instructions for purchasing uniforms, textbooks, and supplies
- And much more!
We’ll update the Hub throughout the summer, and you’ll receive notifications in the “My Messages” section of your Veracross Parent Portal.
Important Dates
- Late June
Grade 5 families and Grades 6-8 new families will receive a separate communication and registration form for the required technology training sessions in August.
- Early August
All Middle School families will receive an invitation to schedule a parent–advisor partnership meeting. A brief questionnaire is available on the Hub to help you prepare for the meeting.
- Sept. 24: Middle School Curriculum Night at 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Meet your child’s teachers, hear about each course, and learn how to support your student at home. Our goal is 100% attendance—we hope to see you there!
- Oct. 14: Meet in the Middle at 8:15 a.m. – 9 a.m.
Join us for a conversation about supporting students’ growing independence and how communication will work this year. All families are welcome, especially those who are new to the Middle School.
- Important Dates for Grade 8 Families
A dedicated calendar of transition events is available to support your child’s move to the Upper School. Thank you for adding these important dates to your family calendar.
In the meantime, I hope your summer is filled with outdoor adventures, relaxing moments with books, and time with loved ones. I look forward to welcoming you and your children back to campus in August.

Warmly,
Marie Reed
Head of the Middle School
